DECEMBER 2009 - FEBRUARY 2010
Fellow Earthlings' Wildlife Center is currently closed for the winter season and we are unable to process meerkat adoptions and merchandise orders.
Our meerkats are all "snug as a bug" and enjoying the loving care of our dedicated on-site team until we resume operations on March 1, 2010. We thank you and look forward to hearing from you in March.

Our "Adopt a Meerkat Program" entitles you and up to three of your guests to enjoy a private, two-hour interactive experience with all of the meerkats at our Center. You will be able to feed, photograph, and play with our wee rascals. The meerkats will enjoy taking treats from your hand, sitting in your lap, untying your shoelaces, and peeking in your pockets.
Your $100.00 tax-deductible donation to Fellow Earthlings' Wildlife Center, Inc., a 501(C)3 non-profit facility, will be used to provide the meerkats with food, veterinary care, housing, and toys.
We are open, by appointment, to our Adoptive Parents and their guests on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the months of March through November.
Our fully licensed Center is located 25 minutes from world-famous Palm Springs, California. Driving time from San Diego and Los Angeles is two hours. Magnificent Joshua Tree National Park is just 20 miles from our Center.
Your Adoption Package will be sent to you upon receipt of your donation to the meerkats. Of course, Adoptions make perfect gifts for friends and family, too.
You need not visit to become an adoptive parent and join our "mob." Many of our adoptive parents are unable to visit the Center, yet still choose to support the meerkats through their "mob membership" adoption donation. We depend greatly upon our adoptive parents to assist us in providing ongoing care for our "wee ones" — so we hope you will consider an adoption even if it is not possible for you to visit. Along with your beautiful adoption portfolio and certificate, you will receive our quarterly newsletter, "Paw Prints," which keeps the extended members of our "mob" up to date on the meerkats and all the Fellow Earthlings' news — it's the next best thing to being here!
Once you have received your adoption portfolio, you may email us (preferably) or telephone for availability of dates for your visit with the meerkats. Our visits are frequently booked very far in advance. Please note that due to the private, exclusive nature of our visits, we are currently booking as much as one year in advance.
Additionally, based upon availability, we can arrange a customized all day encounter with the meerkats and our director, Pam Bennett-Wallberg. THE FULL DAY VISIT CAN BE BOOKED IMMEDIATELY! Please contact us via email and we will happily respond with details and cost.
The Adoption Package includes the following:
Visitor Information
All visitors must be EXTREMELY STEADY ON THEIR FEET and be able to SIT ON THE GROUND OR ON VERY LOW BENCHES EASILY. Additionally, due to weather and FRAGILE burrow conditions, WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS will be enforced in certain areas of the enclosures for the safety of our visitors and the meerkats.
Please note: While meerkats are adorable and captivating, they do not make good pets. Surprisingly, meerkats are one of the most strictly regulated animals in the world. They are illegal to own without the proper licenses and permits. Of course, all "adopted" meerkats remain living at Fellow Earthlings' Wildlife Center, Inc.
